Dumb Type - Monograph
Dumb Type is is a collective of multidisciplinary artists founded in Kyoto in 1984 by students at the Kyoto Municipal University of Arts.
This monograph reflects their non-hierarchical vision, freeing themselves from typographic norms. It plunges the reader into the heart of the installations, highlighting their singularity through a constantly changing layout. The influence of Japanese culture, with its centripetal vision, plays a central role in the design of this edition.
The transparency of the pages does not create obvious temporal breaks but reinforces the coexistence between the works and the text. In homage to this alternative and poetic vision, this monograph by the Dumb Type collective celebrates the creative fusion and hybrid approach that characterise their artistic output.
